People talked about it, it’s not obvious! People watched it in the web world and spellbounded the entire community and putting some spicy opinion on it. Yes! I’m talking about the University of San Jose Recoletos’ student sex scandal. Humiliation as what the people believe coz she carried the school uniform and the Identification Card of her school during the sexual bustle with her partner. It is an insult in the part of the school, board of trustees and faculty since they are a Catholic school and building the uppermost reputation of education with morality and integrity.
Hiding in the world of fears, the worldwide web unveil the veracity of life where the vision of one girl was shattered in a mere wink. I don’t know their names but for me she justified to be loved even if she was exploited her body without her knowledge and was posted in the public. According to the anecdotes the girl was debarred in the school due to the degradation that she bent against the school. While I was examining the video I felt pity to the girl and her family then I remember the cybercrime law that was still suspended in the Supreme Court.
I scanned the provisions of the suspended law, but to my big surprise there was nothing in there to protect every entity in their rights. I am still pointing some provisions that may possibly protect their rights but it is irrelevant. This is not cybersex nor it is child pornography or any computer related fraud, but this is really inhuman to the person who sprinkled this video to the public. The context of this is not to protect her but let the public know that this one is unconstitutional.
Last year, the Republic Act 10175 or also known as the Cybercrime law was being signed in the senate and congress but unfortunately it was suspended in the Supreme Court due to some provisions that supressed the freedom of speech and expression. So the Supreme Court implemented the 120 days suspension early in December of 2012.
The question here is who will answer the consequences in doing the video in public? How can the cybercrime law protect these guys in preventing the circulation of the video in public? What are those steps that the government can do to protect the people? Is cybercrime law is a sufficient one to prevent this types of crime? How the cybercrime law protect the rights of these people who are involved in this act from the one who circulated the video? Who is the real culprit? Who is the victim and the innocent?
People are judging her of being a human and we all know that people are doing the sexual happiness weither it has a video or not but the most important thing is you really need to have your opinion be more sensitive. There were dreams that was broken at that time. But choosing our dream is a path in surviving those things that had going on in the area. The most important thing is if she know how to survive in these great obstacle of her life then I am so proud of her.
I just want to inform you that there were lots of business tycoons, politicians, movie personality and media group that is involved also in the same scandal that you are facing but they never gave up. People are pointing their fingers against you but always remember that those fingers pointing on you are points that may lead you in the success of your life if you take it in a positive way.

Good one. But I think they are also to be blamed. I personally made a sex tape with my ex. We both knew that it was quite exciting and funny to see us do it in a in a third-person’s view. But the thing is, we also knew that we are not porn stars. We have reputations to protect. Not only our reputations but also our families’ reputations. And similar to these kids who shot the video, we were also students at that time and we were younger then. I was in my 3rd year in college and she was in her 2nd. What we did to the video file after watching it (well, we thought it was funny and all but we found it disgusting as shit) was deleting it immediately. We did not allow time to make us forget about it because, who knows? Just like what happened to these kids’ video, it might fall into the wrong hands. And another thing is probably it was already in the wrong hands in the first place. Probably the duschebag was showing off the video to his friends bragging about banging her pretty girlfriend. Then one guy asked for a copy and promised not to show it to anyone or some shit but he uploaded the damn video to the net anyway. Or probably the boyfriend himself uploaded it. I feel pity to the girl, especially to her parents. I just can’t imagine how they reacted to the news about their baby that the spent all their lives and money to turned out to be a f***ing slut. Well yeah probably she will embrace this hardship thinking this may lead to something good in her life but damn! This will remain an unhealed wound to her parents. I think we need a to do a tougher stance on cyber crimes such as these. The net is not just what we think it was 15 years ago. It has become a WORLD! A vast place full of information and stuff. It has become a part of human life which has positive and negative effects of the person in it therefore it should have some kind of a law enforcer.

Buti nalang taga UP ako. Joke. I think, the best thing that we could ALL do is to stop talking about it. No matter how much we say that “dapat tulungan” or she’s a victim or whatever. On the other hand, I think the girl was very much MATURE enough. She’s a graduating student of goodness sake, not a 16 year old who is having her first time. It was her choice to be filmed. I could not agree more. 🙂 Some of us may think that they deserve whats happening now coz of the mistakes they’ve done in the past, but I personally think that they still have to be heard and explain things. Its not like they kill brutaly. Everybody deserves to be treated equally by justice. Maybe by the time they did this, they still dont know the consequences of their actions. Just like normal teenagers who tend to be very experimentive and curious about things.
Its just part of their youth. Youth mistakes that for sure they already learned the lessons from. Also, the school actually has every right to desbarr them or to expell them coz clearly its against the moral values and code of conducts set by the school company. Its moral defamation.
What breaks my heart is the way we think things. We automatically judge them by the things we saw from those vids. Not realizing the pain it caused to our dear victims. Yes, they are victims because they did not purposly uploaded the vids in the internet, somebody did! And that somebody should be the one who is to be judged right now. And all the people that spreaded the video by themselves.
I guess the only way we can stop this is to STOP SPREADING it on our mobile phones, STOP TALKING CRAP about it and most importantly let it DIE on its natural death. Im sure hot topics like this will just pass away eventualy soon especially if we tend not to entertain anything about it.
I hope that the alleged individuals, the school company and most importantly the parents of these kids will find peace in their hearts. Forgive and forget.

I just heard about the news today. Then I heard of disgusting things from people saying that “they” deserve the consequences of what they did. Well probably, for wearing the uniform, and representing the school while engaging in a supposedly private moment, the girl deserves to be expelled or be forced not to go to school ever again, but when it comes to how people judge not only of her but the entire school only because of that single humane act is unjust. Josenians do not deserve all the harsh comment, from people who does not even know anything about the school and the accomplishments the rest of the students have had in its many years of existence. The individuals in the video as well do not deserve to be judged only because of that mistake, which could now be causing them to feeling hatred toward themselves. Let us give them a break, and let the issue die.

i’m a carolinian and i admit, usjr and my university has always been rivals in academic matters ever since. ( let’s just accept it) but seeing its reputation as a catholic institution fall because of some random student’s irresponsible act truly breaks my heart. i don’t wanna judge because i’ve never seen the video yet and i’ve never known these people in the video either, but what they did was very immoral. i highly respect usjr and i do feel sad about this issue. hope they’ll find a way to fix this nightmare.

Above everything else, it’s always the girl who got the most humiliating and embarrassing treatment from everybody. Though both of them enjoyed the moment; yet now, the girl is left alone with this problem. A lesson we can get when we do not think of our future. Yes, I totally agree that the school has nothing to do about the said scandal. In fact it was done out of school. It was their choice to sneak out or to cut classes just to do that kind of thing. Besides, . nobody knows about their plan, it’s just between the two of them. I am a Josenian and I am a parent now. This unfortunate event has saddened me thinking how actions like these, immature or actions that are so not well thought off can have an overwhelming effect to everyone. This is a storm and just all the storms that came our way, it will pass and we will have to pick ourselves up and rebuild. That’s life and that will always be the case. But what saddened me more is to see how other people are handling this situation. Are we not too eager to see the video and share it to other people, and then jeer and the sneer at the kids who did it, and now even include the schools in this fiasco. Shouldnt we look at ourselves and see the mistakes we did and how carefull we are to hide it , dreading the thought of how people would react if they know it. Keep in touch of those pain and humiliation and you will know how these kids, thier friends and family suffer now. Whether you will stop the bullying or extend and understanding hand will be up to you. Sooner or later, this same fate might happen to you, and you will be asking for the same understanding that these kids are asking now.

The prohibition under paragraphs (b), (c) and (d) shall apply notwithstanding that consent to record or take photo or video coverage of the same was given by such person/s. Any person who violates this provision shall be liable for photo or video voyeurism as defined herein.
Section 5. Penalties. – The penalty of imprisonment of not less that three (3) years but not more than seven (7) years and a fine of not less than One hundred thousand pesos (P100,000.00) but not more than Five hundred thousand pesos (P500,000.00), or both, at the discretion of the court shall be imposed upon any person found guilty of violating Section 4 of this Act.
If the violator is a juridical person, its license or franchise shall be automatically be deemed revoked and the persons liable shall be the officers thereof including the editor and reporter in the case of print media, and the station manager, editor and broadcaster in the case of a broadcast media.
If the offender is a public officer or employee, or a professional, he/she shall be administratively liable.
If the offender is an alien, he/she shall be subject to deportation proceedings after serving his/her sentence and payment of fines.

I didn’t read the whole article, too long. The problem isn’t with whoever distributes the videos though. Unless they are dumb, you’ll never find those people. The problem is with people taking photos/videos of themselves to start with. 90% of men don’t have the ethics to keep the video private if you have a bad break up and 90% of the remaining men aren’t smart enough to keep such data private. It’s not easy, no matter how good their intentions may be. Phones get stolen. Computers get hacked.
Guys, if you love and respect a woman, don’t take a chance at her life being ruined by leaked photos/videos, no matter how good your intentions may be to keep them private… you will probably fail. All it takes is a single mistake. Young women must be taught repeatedly never to let their BF take photos/videos. They often don’t understand the technical issues involved in actually keeping them private for a lifetime and things like that can come back to haunt you 10 years later.
For all the onlookers stumbling over themselves to see the videos, many of you are hypocrites. How many of you are completely free of sin? How many of you have engaged in premarital sex of your own? Respect their privacy. It won’t kill you not to see the videos.

This incident could happen to anyone whether they’re still single or married due to an irresponsible uploader who doesn’t even have a conscience.. I’m pretty sure the girl was aware that it was being video tapped. she’s not stupid or as innocent as people seem to be suggesting. she knew there would be record of her actions (and in her school uniform no less). I don’t think she has a hand in leaking it out… i think someone who knew about it did (i presume the guy did it… ego maybe)
I also think the school is a bit lax about it considering she dragged the school into this fiasco by wearing her uniform. I’m pretty sure its in the school’s bylaws somewhere that this kind of behavior isn’t tolerated.
I just read the school’s official statement and just to be completely blunt, it sounded more like good damage control spin doctoring than anything else. So what does it say to other students exactly?
